In this pic we put his hand on this toy and he didn't know how to let go!!!

Cory's dad made the baby a rattle. Cory gave it to him and he was able to grab it. it's kinda cute. Here are some pics of it and a video (sorry I can't change the angle)

Here are some pics to prove we do have somewhat of a life. Our friends Heather and Dane just moved and so we went out to eat at the cheesecake factory.

I think being a mom is the best and the hardest thing in the world. After 3 days with little to no sleep and a baby that screams the entire time he is in the car I feel like the worst mom in the world because I just want to get away from him. But my friends tell me this is normal and that I am doing fine. Than he smiles at me (even at 2 in the morning) and I am so happy to be a mom. Or just now he cooed at his toys. Cory told me that I will often feel like a bad mom and that's why its so hard. So this goes out to all the moms... Keep at it... Way to go

Update on us. Cory is enjoying his job. We are all hating the heat but I am grateful for Heather and Keri Jo who get me out of the house. Rowan had his 2 month doctors visit. He got his shots and I was prepared for the worst, the hurt look on his face that just screams "Why did you let them do this to me!!". Thank goodness all I got was the crying. He is taking it well. He is a little more fussy today and yesterday than normal, but he is still being good (and I am getting used to 3-4 hours of sleep). Besides that we are just trying to adjust. I miss having things to do like the farmers market and work. Its hard to stay motivated at home. I have been way too lazy these past few weeks. Hopefully that will change soon

So I just realized that I never put any pics up from Rowan's blessing. We blessed him when he was 5 days old so that my parents could be there. We did it at Cory's parents house and Rowan was wearing Cory's dad's blessing outfit. We did that because nothing else would fit him and since Cory's dad is a twin he was small when he was blessed. My Mom made him the blanket that he is wrapped in (I am looking forward to winter so I can use it again). It was a wonderful experience! Thanks to everyone who came too!

Rowan's normal night routine go like this; I feed him when he wakes up between 2 and 3 and than he falls right asleep after. Sometimes I have to give him his pacifier but not often. Than he wakes up again around 6-8. Well this morning was different. After he was done eating he did this...

He did this again at 6:30 this morning. I am usually so tired that I can't keep my eyes open but when he does this it wakes me up and I just want to play with him. It's hard not to. Who can resist that smile!

We have been wondering what to dress the baby up for for Halloween. We don't want to do the normal "cutsy" baby stuff like pumpkins and flowers. We were thinking making him a gothic baby and than Cory and I can dress to match...

and we can get him a stuffed Appa (his 6 footed Bison)

Or there is a chipendale!!

If anyone has votes or other ideas let us know!!!
These are some cute videos of Rowan cooing. Its mainly for the grandparents. We hope you enjoy it!

Here are just a bunch of pics of the baby to catch up on how he has grown. He is finally fitting into his 0-3 month old clothes. With 2 days before I stuff arrived he outgrew his newborn diapers and we had to buy some bigger ones (which was bad because we have a whole bunch of size 1), oh well, we will use them. Since we have been here he has rolled over (only did this once and hasn't done it since), he smiles and cooes a lot, and he is putting himself to sleep (in fact he often won't go to sleep until we put him down now!)

This is us dancing at the opening a new dance studio in Phoenix. The owner is a friend of Cory's. Rowan wanted to dance with us.

These are him smiling. The best pic I got was on my cell phone and I can't download it to here. Hopefully he will continue to smile and I can get some better pics

This is him sleeping during the move

It is fun to have him grab our fingers with his toes

More asleep time. He fell asleep in the sling and I laid him down in it and he stayed asleep. I think he looks like the emperor from Star Wars

This one he fell asleep with his finger caught in his mouth!!

We made it!!! We got into Arizona on the night of the 2nd. We went to our apartment the next morning (pics to come once our stuff comes). I really like our new apartment. The only bad thing is its on the third floor! Oh well, it will help me get into shape. Rowan handled the drive pretty well. He got really fussy right at the end which was only bad because we were lost trying to find our hotel and it made it that much more frustrating. We have hung out with Heather and Dane already and look forward to the Grossens getting back into town so we can hang out with them.
I swear that Rowan has grown over night. His newborn diapers don't fit him anymore, we didn't pack any of the bigger ones because he was drowning in the newborns, until yesterday. His onesies now fit him! I will send pics once I can. Our stuff should be here on Tuesday (Which is 2 days sooner than we thought). We will keep you posted!

Here is a picture of our "diseased" baby. He currently has E Coli, mad cow, stomach ache, stomach ulcer, flesh eating staph, black mold, syphilis, and rabies all attacking him!

This is Rowan's first real bath (not a sponge bath). He wasn't minding it until Cory came with camera.

Here are some cute new pics of the little one. He loves to play with his daddy. He also is already a daddy's boy. If he is fussy 9 times out of 10 Cory can calm him down. It has made the days when Cory is at work long. Today if he wasn't asleep he was crying. I think I ate something too spicy last night :( The other pic is Rowan playing with his pacifier. He has learned to grab it sometimes, pull it out, and than cry because it's no longer in his mouth!

This is a funny joke that I wanted to do. I found these stuffed diseases online and I thought it would be funny to have one with the baby so I could tell the nurses that he had some weird disease. One of my friends (Thanks Morgan!!) got me mono (the kissing disease). She was even willing to lend me Rabies!!! Most of the staff thought it was very funny. One nurse freaked out and got a very worried look on her face until she realized it was a joke. Even than she had a look on her face that showed she didn't think it was that funny:)

Here is the newest addition to the family (slideshow to the side) He was born at 9:15 pm on 5/29/08. He weighed 7lbs 9oz and was 20.5 inches. He barely cried the first few days, but he made up for it last night, he had an upset tummy. I was very grateful that my mom was here to help me.

This is Cory and I at a performance down in bountiful. Now that I am getting my belly I won't fit into the costumes anymore. But we are still hoping that I can dance for awhile longer

Our bathroom floor has been very spongy lately. Infact, we think the only thing that has been keeping us from falling through the floor is the linoleum! It got fixed yesterday and this is the process of fixing it.

This is our Christmas tree this year. It is my first real tree that I can remember. It made the house smell good. Christmas was great. We were able to go to Oregon and spend the time before
Christmas with my parents and we were able to go down to Cory's parents for Christmas day.

You can see his face here.

Yep, definitely a boy.

Well, It's been a busy week for us. School started, and we agreed to coach the ballroom dance team this year. It should be interesting. We are really hoping to have a good year there. Jenn and I started learning the routines today, so we can start teaching them once we have a team.

We've spent the summer making jewelry, and having a lot of fun. I'm posting a picture of some of the rings I've made. Jenn will probably post some of her necklaces and anklets later. I am starting to try selling them on ebay. I posted a the first few today, as a trial run. Look under Seller: Ragnork to see them. The gold one I made for a lady in the red hat society. It turned out really nice. I just need to get a display for them now.

Homecoming, 2006. Loads of fun.

Thursday, February 22, 2007

This past week has come with a little excitement. I was asked by one of my coworkers to teach her and her fiance to dance. So now every Friday we are teaching them and it has been a lot of fun. Since then, we have been approach my a lot of people who want to learn to dance. (One of the people that want to learn is the owner of the Sweetly Divine pastry shop here in Logan. And if you haven't tried their food you are missing out!!!) We are trying to take things slow because we are not sure what we can handle, but if we can do this on a larger scale it would be awesome. Tonight we are going to talk to a local club owner about using their facility during off hours to teach people so that we can do more lessons.

Well, I figure I should post that I got a new job about two weeks ago. I'm working at USU's Space Dynamics lab. I'm doing primarily logistics and documentation on a camera project. So far, it's alot of fun.

Well, I've been meaning to post this for a while, and I'm finally getting around to it. Since our Gyoza recipe has been so popular, here it is. This recipe was provided to us by our great friends Keri Jo and Darrel Grossen!

1/2 lb. sausage
1/2 lb. hamburger
3 cups finely chopped cabbage
1 ginger bud grated (about 1 cubic inch)
1 onion finely chopped
salt, pepper
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp Aji mirin
2 eggs
2-3 tbsp soy sauce
round eggroll skins

mix everything together,
place about a spoonful in each wrap, pinch together.
you can fry, deepfry, steam or boil them. we recommend frying them in a little oil till they start to brown, then adding a little water, and putting a lid on, till they are done.

For all you Nathan fans out there, here's a picture of him in his zoot suit.
