Trip to Utah

Rowan and I went to Utah this last week (we traveled with a friend for safety, thanks Heather!).  We spent the first few days in Logan goofing off with friends there and staying with Betsy and Nick (Thanks so much guys!!).  I apologize for not having more pics of the trip because I was too busy trying to see as many people as possible that I forgot about taking pics.
When we went to Bountiful we surprised Cory's mom because she didn't know we were coming.  It was great to see all my family and a few friends, sorry to those I missed, but next time I will let more know I am there and you can all come see us!
Here are some pics from the trip

We went for ice cream and we put the spoon on Rowan's nose!

Cory and I went to a drive in movie and brought Rowan along.  He had fun "driving"

Rowan gives full open mouth kisses.  I laid on the floor to get a good shot of it and it looks more like he is giving me CPR!!!

WALKING

I can't believe he is walking already! He took his first step at 8 months and has not stopped.  It is so fun!!! I don't have video of it but his favorite thing is to hold onto my finger and walk everywhere!! He smiles and laughs and makes all kinds of noises while doing it!  Ignore the mess.  We have been playing today rather than cleaning.

We went to the Renaissance Festival here and it was huge!! We spent most of the day there and didn't get to see everything.
Here is me and "Mother goose" which is really a duck, but there were geese inside too
The falconer- this is he vulture which is missing part of his left wing

I could have posted about 20 videos in this blog because he has been doing so much we have lots of video and little pics. He crawls everywhere and can walk really well. He still falls more than he walks but he will let go of things on his own and start walking. The bad thing is he is getting into everything and gets mad now when we tell him no. Cory is still in school and struggling because he has no study buddy right now, but he is still doing well. So hopefully he will pass because this should be the hardest class and they should be just easier from now on.
He has also learned to crawl upstairs and he has tried to go down them too. Luckily we have no stairs and he plays on the ones at church and their are only 4. Cory stays by him too. The first time he tried to go head first and the second time he tried to walk holding onto the wall and going down (he didn't do half bad, he just needs to be a little taller)
He did have his 9 month appt and he is doing great. 19 lbs 29 inches and he is doing great!!

Here is Rowan playing in a bin.

He tried raisins for his first time and I noticed he hadn't swallowed it when he did this smile

He loves his bathes and loves to chew on his sponge. He has learned that he can put toys in his mouth and walk around too

His hair is so long I had to do a mohawk

I went to check on him before bed (because he often falls asleep with his head against the posts) and he had his foot hanging out

He fell asleep while eating the bottle and it was too cute!

It's Going To Be Fun!!!

Everyone wants to be a winner sometime in their life. :)

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. You have no clue what it's going to be.
3. It may not be complete until after the summer is over!

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! *Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

Something else new....

I realized that I often forget things because I am so absorbed with downloading pics. So...
For Valentines we had some great friends watch Rowan so we could go dancing. It was a lot of fun but we miss our social network from Logan/Utah/MAC. But it was still fun. I am getting better at not being a worry-wart while the kid is at the babysitter.
Cory is doing well in school. We are so grateful for Craig (his study-buddy). The weather here is still beautiful and perfect. We got rain last night which made for a perfect day.
I am having a hot tub party tomorrow with some friends and I am so looking forward to it!! It makes me want to stay in an apartment because of the pool and hot tub and exercise room!
Sorry this blog is boring or just pics, I am trying to be creative!
Too Fast!!

Rowan took his first step last week and got his second tooth! I can't believe how quickly he changes! He also had an appointment today for his helmet and they are impressed by how quickly he is changing. Normally they don't notice a change in the first month but he has. So hopefully we will be able to get done quicker.

When Rowan wakes up in the middle of the night he will sit up and cry until we give him his pacifier. Everytime he will be so tired that the second we put it in he falls face first, asleep. Well we tried to put his pacifier on a lanyard so that he could find it himself. This is what we found in the morning! (And yes he is still asleep!)

This is him relaxed with one leg on me while eating!

For my Birthday I was able to a lot of fun things. Cory put up with Rowan while doing homework so I could have a full girls night with Heather. We went and got pedicures and ice cream and goofed off. It was a lot of fun!

On Saturday Cory and I went and checked out the Goldfield mine in Apache Junction. It really wasn't cool but we took some pics anyways and we were glad to get out of the house
The coolest part was going into the mine and that was the only place that we were able to find out the history of this "ghost town"

This was our tour guide

This was the toilet that the miners used. We were told that they used to steal gold by putting it in here because they were the only ones allowed to come and go from the mine. I think there are better ways to get gold!

These are just some happy baby pics

I was trying to get a good pic of his new tooth (he only has one and it is bugging me because I have to have symmetry in somethings!) All you can see in this is a cute smile and lots of drool!!!

Here is his tooth (bottom)
He likes to play with his tooth
He has learned that he can makes noises with his fist and mouth. His favorite time to do this is sacrament meeting when it is quiet

Eating a lemon

Grandma Johns made this helicopter for Rowan and he was loving to play with it!

I can't get Rowan to drink apple juice from a bottle....but he likes it being squirted into his mouth!!!!

I love pics of sleeping babies. Rowan fell asleep after his bottle in the lovesac and I couldn't resist and I had to take a bunch of pics.

Rowan wearing Cory's sunglasses

This week has been so crazy. To start on Sunday Rowan decided to go from not being interested in getting around to standing, pulling himself up on everything and moving around everywhere! He isn't fully crawling yet but he will get on his hands and knees, put his head down to help move him back into a sitting position and that is how he is getting around. (I will try to get a video of it). I tried to put Rowan down for his afternoon nap yesterday but when I went to check on him he was standing in his crib. Here is a video of how he does it (ignore him hitting his chin at the end)

Here is him playing in the mirror. He will even pull himself up on the mirror, although I can't get him to do it when the camera is running

And Heather let us borrow this walker thing that he loves!

The other thing is that Rowan got his helmet yesterday. He doesn't mind it at all. Everyone at the doctors was surprised that he wasn't trying to pull on it. I am lucky he is so passive!
If you go to this website http://www.cranialtech.com/treatment/casec.html you will see a before and after pic that is exactly what Rowan is right now. The only downside we have had so far is that he wants his pacifier a lot more. Not a bad at all!
